Weekend Wear

It is officially June, hello Summer!  The weekend down here in the south central U-S OF A is looking calm for this time of year.  Normally it's already close to 100 and I am wanting to do nothing but sit outside on top of the sprinkler.  Fortunately, I haven't even had to turn my AC on yet.  Should be about 90 this weekend and I am going to attend my sister's baby shower, followed by my sweet fiance's soccer game on Sunday.  Life is good.

Warby Parker

So I'm sure all of you have heard of Toms and the whole idea of one for one.  Buy a pair, Tom's gives a pair of shoes to a child in need.  Well riddle me delighted when I heard about Warby Parker, a glasses company that operates by a similar philosophy.

Not only are their glasses very affordable (holla at ya girl who doesn't have vision insurance and can't see 2 feet in front of her) but they will actually  send you sample glasses to try on at your house.  I don't know about you, but that rocks my socks off.

Check out a few of the pairs I'm digging for myself:

                                                             Preston, $95

                                                            Roosevelt, $95

                                                             Reece, $95

And to protect my baby blues from the sun:

Mabel, $95-$150

And no, this is not a paid advertisement, because let's face it, no-one is reading this blog right now but me.  But....on the off chance you are reading it.....thank you and congrats on your excellent taste in blogs.

Dinnerware IS Fashionable

Soooooo, you know how I said this was going to be primarily a vintage fashion blog?  And then remember how I then proceeded to post completely new outfits as opposed to vintage repurposed?  And then remember how I posted about dishes?

Oh, wait, what? I haven't done that one yet.  Well I'm about to.

I can't help it.  Maybe it's committment issues.  Do you think there's a specialist who handles lack of blog topical committmenet issues?

I just love all pretty things, and darn it, I want to share them with you! And style is style is style, am I right?

I am getting married in a mere 66 days (holy cow) and in my search for some final decor and accessories I came across this little gem website, Fishs Eddy.  Feast your eyes:

                                                     Brooklanyese Buttah Dish, $18.95

                                                            Intervention Plate, $9.95

                                                        Milk Bottle Robin Egg, $6.95

                                                       Mermaid Bottle Opener, $22.95

Honestly, these would make for a most stylish kitchen, and I have a fab pair of pumps that would look smashing with that milk bottle.

3 Day Weekend, 1 Pair Of Shoes

Weekend Getaway

Same shoes, different day...

Cas...

Has it really been almost a month since I posted on this blog?   For Shame.

It may be only Wednesday but the weekend is calling my name.

"Jessica!"

Did you hear that too?

I digress.

I don't wear pants...

Ok, well, I don't wear pants often.  Somewhere between the end of my college years and my transition into a "career", I began a love affair with all things skirts and dresses.  It's getting pretty serious, and I've had to had some talks with my pants about the future of our relationship.  I don't know what it is.  There is freedom and girliness and lucidity that comes with skirts and dresses.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go outside and twirl.

Style Dah-Ling

Hello and welcome to my home!  Well, my virtual home, so to speak.  If my computer were brick and mortar, and my keyboard a garden, you would be greeted by hydrangeas, white shutters and pink curtains.

I hope to make this my vacation home, if you will.  My home for all things style.  I also hope to soon create my etsy shop where you can be styled, by me!  Actually, I don't have to do much work on it other than act as Chief Buyer (that's right, it's my business, so I can be chief buyer if I want to), as I believe that all of my readers are highly fashionable, sheek mama-sitas and I am simply a resource to you all, because you all wear it so well already.

My focus is on re-purposing clothing and accessories, and making it modern for today.  I will throw in  pieces and style that are new, but I think the fun and creativity comes with reusing and recreating.

So, if you'll raise your glass (or your mouse) and cheers to the future of Styled By Sissy.  Here's to kick ass style, and rocking it like there's no tomorrow.
